Every morning for the past five years, a 93-year-old woman named Louise Edlen has been waving to school children who pass by her home. She’s so well known to students and bus drivers that she’s referred to as “the grandma in the window” by all of them. The daily ritual is sweet, and it’s loved by everyone involved.
But one day, Edlen wasn’t there. No one panicked at first, but after a week, the kids became concerned about their grandma in the window. That’s when the bus driver, Carol, decided to do some investigating. She found out that Edlen had suffered a stroke and was in the hospital. What the kids did for Edlen when they heard the news is so touching.

Now that’s an amazing story. We wish Mrs. Edlen a speedy recovery so that she can get back to waving at those children as soon as possible. It’s clear that they miss her as much as she misses them.
